Curriculum – Safety (Care.com)
DIAPERING:
- Assemble necessary supplies
- Remove soiled diaper, folding ends over soiled surface
- Put soiled diaper in appropriate receptacle
- Clean child with disposable wipe, moving front to back
- Place new diaper on child
- Wash child’s hands with soap and water
- Clean changing area
- Wash hands with soap and water
NOTE: NEVER leave a child alone on a changing table.
If a child is “wiggly,” change them on a clean mat on the floor.
If a child has diarrhea, give them crackers and water, adding other foods ONLY if they are hungry, and be sure to WASH YOUR HANDS after helping them.
